Police use drone to coax alleged burglar out of hiding place in ceiling

Police captured footage of the alleged burglar in a ceiling crawlspace Photo courtesy of Oceanside Police Department A burglar in Oceanside didn t run but evidently he tried to hide Friday It didn t work though thanks to a drone and a arrangement dog Police used a remote-controlled camera to find the suspected burglar holed up inside a ceiling crawlspace at a business in the block of Mission Avenue according to the Oceanside Police Department Officers arrived after an alarm sounded around a m They spotted the suspect inside but didn t promptly catch up with the intruder during a search of the building With help from a sheriff s service-dog unit they came to believe he had hidden above the ceiling Lt Michael Provence noted Using a drone they eventually detected him according to police The suspect appeared to be feigning sleep and nearly fell through the ceiling while attempting to remain concealed Provence disclosed adding that officers were able to safely get him down him down without circumstance Karlos Jordon of Oceanside was booked into county jail in Vista on suspicion of burglary and an outstanding warrant He may face additional charges Investigators believe he may be connected to other burglaries in the area the lieutenant explained City News System contributed to this description
